CLEAVE
English Dictionary defines Cleave as “to cling, adhere or stick fast to something”
In this context, Cleave would portray ‘to cling, adhere or stick fast to someone of significance’ and no one but the Divine/ supernatural Authority or one appointed to represent the divine authority by the divine authority Himself.
Cleave is serious enough for consideration at Pushportation because it is possible to Leave and not Cleave and then miss out on destination. One who has left his country and kinsmen, slavery prison or a miserable state to follow the Divine Authority into a massive estate that belongs to God’s heirs needs some Pushings to escape the snares that hinders progress in the journey.
To cleave is to take full advantage of the divine presence/ authority whose possibilities or potency surpasses human understanding.
To Cleave is to recognize the weakness of the ordinary man, the harshness of the ordinary climate/ creation and the danger of neglecting or undermining the divine authority.
God almighty – the God of Abraham was absolutely mindful of Israel that He did not allow them to perish in Egypt. He sent His servant Moses to free them from the chains of slavery and lead them to Leave. They actually left Egypt but many of them could not reach their destination (Canaan) because they could not Cleave to God. They behaved unruly and offended the God who could have saved them from all odds. The same adversary (satan) who robbed Adam of divine presence and his possessions and privileges robbed Israel of their Promised Land /possession. Most of them died in the wilderness as rebels.

The mention of CLEAVE in the Holy Bible. The first was in the context of God’s primary institution - Marriage. He admonished in Gen2:24: ‘Therefore a man shall Leave, his father and his mother and shall Cleave unto his wife and they shall become one flesh’.
Other uses are in Deut 10:20 (KJV), Deut 11:22 (KJV)
Cleave is majorly a king James Bible English and its uses conforms to ‘Completely Loving an Essential Association to Veer from the Enemies’.
SYMBOLISMS OF ONE WHO HAS CLEAVED:
In this context, one has Cleaved to the God who knows the beginning from the end - who knows what good plans He has for His heir and what it would take for Him to realize it. The God who is ever able to move His heir from anywhere (not withstanding resistance / or embargo) to the right place for the fulfillment of purpose. That is, Cleave unto the God whom Joseph cleaved unto to reach Pharoah’s court. For Cleaving unto Almighty, he could not be returned to the prison or have any cause to behave like Israel who wanted to return to Egypt by all means who did not know the good that Israel held for them . Joseph did not for a moment think that his call unto Pharoah was a plot for his assassination in the strange land for the evil label that Portiphar put on him. He had Cleaved to the God of his fathers and saw every climate conducive and cooperating Joseph was head in prison yet he longed for the palace he never knew.
Hence, it takes Cleaving to God Almighty to Reach a great place where God ordained His heirs to dwell for impact. It begins with Leaving sinfulness, sonship, slavery situations & the society of forbidden people to follow God’s ordained course.
N/B the Leaving of Abraham for Canaan, the Leaving of Jacob for Haran, the lLeaving of Joseph for Egypt (enroute Lebanon)) was symbolism of the redemption of the New Covenant: Walking away from where is not Wholesome to secure Divine Presence that cannot be mistaken.

(1) Submissiveness:
It is the submissive who earn Divine Presence. ‘God rejects the proud and give grace to the humble’ (James 4:6).
Those who are humble and submit to the leadership of God can have His presence with them perpetually. The submissive know that He is Sovereign and they desire His help, guardian and guidance and He has pleasure in such to remain with them as the very present help.
The submissive satisfy the Leave command and Cleave to God Almighty for the help they need
to Reach their destination – headship.
(2) Sensitivity: The sensitive have knowledge of peculiar person of God who is unfailing towards those in covenant with Him. Jacob got to know that there was so much about the person of Abraham and Isaac as concerned God’s covenant with them. So, he applied his senses to know that was necessary to perpetuate the presence and goodwill of God that marked their uniqueness.
As he realized what was expected of him to perpetuate the bond that blessed them, he cleaved to God. He refused to follow the carnal/callous course of his biological senior brother Esau.
The more he remained Cleaved to God (learning about God and the covenant from his mother), the more he aligned himself to God to be suitable for His presence (even the blessing).
In sensitivity, there is hope for Reaching destination because the need to Cleave to God would be obvious. Everyone who has left the cursed/fallen state must be sensitive about the demanding course that leads to destination and Cleave to God for all he needs to journey successfully to his rightful realm.

3. Supplicative: The heir of God has been admonished to ‘pray without ceasing’ (1 Thess 5:17). In that obedient mode, it can be deduced that the helpless has Cleaved to God. To have the abiding presence of God that represents the heritage is to be in a supplicative mode being in appreciation of His person and peculiarities.
Let him who aims for his destination (to appropriate the benefits of redemption) be in supplication perpetually - imploring the full occupation of God in matters of his glorious destiny that would make the beauty of God evident and manifold.
It takes supplication to keep the enemy away and defeated so that the heir would remain Cleaved to God and not be distracted away by envious adversary.
Hence, the heir should Supplicate to stay Cleaved and remain Cleaved to supplicate meaningfully and have what he needs to Reach his destination.

4. SINGLE – MINDED:
‘Let your eyes be single’ remains a timely admonition of those who have Cleaved to God so that they would Reach. His eyes are fixed on his heritage and he would not look away to any alluring /inviting sight. Note that Jacob wanted nothing other than his heritage. Every pleasure that Esau imagined he was getting from violating that covenant to mingle with and marry Canaanites was on abomination to Jacob.
Hence, one who has Cleaved to God must be single-minded: wishing for nothing other than what God has for His heirs which he was journeying in divine presence to Reach.
Let him who desire to Reach his right realm as God’s heir keep his mind single. At that his Cleaving to God would pay off and no bait, lure, thirst or appetite would drag him away back to where decided to Leave.

5. Sacrificial: A person in a desirable/purposeful journey has left so much behind. Those things which constituted comfort for him are no longer within his Reach and he lets them go because he looks forward to more precious things.
For one to Leave, he had decided to let go what he previously cherished or treasured. Having Cleaved to the God who mandated the journey and knows the destination is indication of no return no matter what was left behind.
God Almighty had given Canaan (a land flowing with milk and honey) to Israel but ignorance made them to look back to Egypt for cucumber, melons, leeks, onions and garlic (Numbers 11:5) all tasteless lots. They could not bear with the temporary season of not having what did not quite define them in their relationship with the God of creation. They were so displeased and offended for the short while they were to journey to their home. Sacrifice was not their attribute because they could not Cleave to the God who had sufficient power to provide them what they were allowed to have in their location per time as they journeyed.
Note that Jacob was a symbol of Sacrifice because he Cleaved to God. His Porridge went, venisons of Esau could not rob him of discipline. He only let them pass him and it was not possible for him to remain Cleave to Reach his throne. Imagine the magnitude of sacrifice that redemption mean to God and Jesus their image and likeness being fully alive to the need to let go what is common for what is Peculiar. Let note be taken that the heir of God does not repeat the mistake of the seeds of Abraham (Israel) who refused to sacrifice common Egypt for the Canaan that was peculiar to them.
