Ensnarement is the condition of being ensnared  - caught in a snare/ trap. Ensnarement is the consequences of compromise, crookedness, corruption or carnality. It is the destination of the journey/mission initiated by the adversary in contradiction of the truth.

A snare can be physical or psychology. Both arrest and keep in a state of distress, disease, decay and deformity.

Ensnarement is a state that contradicts divine purpose, redemption and fulfillment. It is being in the curse.

Ensnarement is being out of touch with the Garden of Eden, Canaan, Calvary and Jesus Christ – the captain of the New Covenant.

Adam was the first man that God created in His own Image and Likeness decked with the Blessing and the Dominion mandate. He had the Garden of Eden to live, work and eat the fruit of his labor- such as it could be produced by the tree that God planted by Himself - fruits from the tree that were not subject to any geography or climate. Bountiful was measure of his harvest in the Garden of Eden by the Blessing that was both on himself and the trees as well as the ground. Adam was not aware of the weird being called Satan. So, he was in no way watching out from works/ gimmick that would have suggested he was on the stage to act against him and God through the serpent that Adam thought he knew; through the woman Adam appreciated (Gen 2: 23) and the fruit she appreciated (Gen 3: 6) Satan used guile to give Adam what he did not need. Adam ate what he did not need to lost what he needed to live meaningfully - the presence of God. Satan sent the serpent to send Eve and Adam fell into a snare that was obvious: the fruit of the forbidden tree that was presented to him as a fruit good for food (which God did not love him enough to let him enjoy). At that rebellion, Adam was caught in a snare.  Satan went jubilating while God was grieved by the damage.

Man was no longer in term with God. He was cursed and caught in a big snare and ‘the knowledge of the good and evil’ he got could not save him. The rebellion brought about man’s ensnarement whereas Redemption marked his escape from Ensnarement.

 ESCAPING ENSNAREMENT:

Satan masterminded man’s Ensnarement but merciful God orchestrated the escape of man from his snare. Psalm 124:7 reflects the escape of the seed of Abraham by the blessing that was theirs by the covenant. If the Blessing could break the snare for Israel to escape from Egypt as birds, then how much easier would the heir of God (with the total heritage of God) escape from every form of Ensnarement. With just the Blessing, Pharaoh and all that made Egypt the world-power drown for Israel (seeds of Abraham) to escape with all that Redemption represents, the heir of God is justified to live in freedom perpetually. Knowledge of the truth (Jn 8:32) is a tangible phenomenon to uphold or pant after like Apostle Paul panted after the knowledge of Jesus (phil3:10) even the same truth whose Power was sufficient to cause His Resurrection - an uncommon escape from Ensnarement. ‘And if the Spirit of Him who raised Christ from dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you (Rom 8:11).

Redemption is the giving of life to your mortal body and happens to demonstrate the potency of the same spirit that raised Jesus from dead - the same spirit that can cause escape from any kind of snare. Therefore, with the knowledge of the Truth that the efficacy of the Spirit has not wane, let us secure the presence of that same spirit (the Holy Spirit / the Helper, Our Comforter) which Jesus promised the Church (Jn 16:7, Jn 14:16) so that He may perform the counsel of God in us - to empower us to escape.

 RULES FOR ESCAPING SNARE:

a)   REALIZE:

1) The Principal to reverence in life is God Almighty who has all it takes to set free from any kind of snare. The adversary that lures into the snare is a defeated foe whose snare is only a fake or false form that cannot stand the divine presence.

2)   The principle for the perpetual presence of God in His heir is the Holy Spirit. So, seek Him for perpetual fellowship and never leave Him to check on Satan for anything he cares to advertise. Note that whatever it advertises is the fruit of the forbidden tree that kills.

3)   The price for the freedom of the heir of God was paid in full by Jesus at the Cross. He is not like the cursed man, the seed of Abraham or the son of God who did not have what it takes to escape from the snare. At the Resurrection of Jesus, he had escaped the curse that represented Ensnarement to live in liberty and he only has to wield his authority to keep satan in its snare – where Jesus sentenced it to at His Resurrection.

4)   The Purpose of the finished work of Jesus at the Cross of Calvary was for your freedom from every snare. You were not redeemed to remain in any snare but to be in total freedom so that you can pursue and fulfill the Purpose of your Creation.

Remember, the man in the snare is a captive and it is forbidden for the heir of God Almighty to be a captive. God saved man to make him useful to Him. Exo 9:1 reflects that God sent Moses to tell Pharoah: ‘let my people go, that they may serve me’ (NKJV).

5)   The Purpose of your freedom is service to God. In the snare, Adam was driven out of the Garden where God placed him to serve: ‘to dress it and to keep it’ (Gen 2:15). Therefore, you are in God under obligation to sustain and enforce your freedom from any kind of snare so that you can fulfill your purpose – being in service to God wherever He chooses. N/B: It was God who chose to put Adam in the Garden of Eden – where he would feast on the multitude of fruits that the many Blessed trees of the Garden would yield. To keep oneself from being ensnared is to locate and occupy God’s choice place for oneself. That is, to avoid the mistake of Adam who allowed his subjects to misbehave around his jurisdiction.
