PURSUE: Means ‘to aim for, go after (a specified objective)’. It also means ‘to strive to gain or accomplish’ (thefreedictionary.com).
Peak means: ‘the point of highest achievement’. It can imply ‘the covenant platform where heirs occupy to fulfill the obligation of influencing their subjects as God ordained in their generation’.
The Peak is the impact base of the seed or heir (formerly of the Covenant, presently of Salvation).
At the Peak, he is as a lighted candle on a stand to light the house.
As the light of the world (Matt 5:14), the Peak of the heir is the realm that is beyond ordinary human comprehension (John 1:5).
In the dispensation of the Old Covenant, the best school in Egypt was not good enough for his alma-mater. He was too indispensable for governance in Babylon to make meaning without him. Even the diabolical escapades of a native (Haman) that was calculated to keep the stranger (Mordecai) at the gate proved inconsequential. The Peak in Medo-Persian empire longed to have the light (the stranger: the Seed of Abraham) occupy it as the climate of the land could not fail to acknowledge the smart seed in her midst.
Seeds of Abraham by the blessing they embodied were marked for the Peak. The blessing moved them against gravity to the Peak where they occupied to show forth the potency of the Covenant, the beauty of Godliness and goodness/ awesomeness of the God of Abraham.
The force of gravity orchestrated by the society to stop those who were ordained to shine at the Peak proved inconsequential. Captivity, strangeness, imprisonment, false label, servanthood, lack of civil education, poor population, language difference etc could not keep seeds or heirs at the rear. The blessing forced them to the Peak and they could not stay down no matter the opposition, rivalry or rift.
They became the requirement for solving the problems or achieving the goals of their subjects. Indeed, the people over whom they were to rule rejoiced that they got to discover their saviours. They celebrated that the God they were strangers to send them human savior.
For Pursuit to make the right meaning, the Peak must be the aim. Otherwise, one would just be trying to do some ‘ordinary things’ - not aiming where only a selected or special people are due for by divine assistance.
In this context, Pursue reflects going for an aim that is beyond ordinary personal effort.
An aim that can only be attained by divine assistance - not energy, intellect, knowledge, skill, or social connection: an aim like ‘like sun and moon and eleven stars bowing down to an eleventh born’ (Gen 39:9).
The Peak is the platform from where SMART SEEDS and HEAVY HEIRS exercise their dominion mandate over their God-ordained subjects and creation in their generation. It is the realm where they exert positive influence and impact to the total population of their jurisdiction or generation.
Joseph exemplified the attainment of the Peak.
In the office created for him per necessity, he served and saved the world of that time from famine. Although he was a minister in Egypt (the world power of that time), other countries which were struck by famine had to buy their food from Egypt. The family of Jacob (Israel) had to get their foods from Egypt until God used His design to get Israel to live in Egypt to learn humility from living under rude rulers (Gen. 15:13; Acts 7:6). Hear Pharoah – in his surrender to Joseph Gen. 41:40-41; ‘Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.”
In this context, it can be said that the Peak is the position one occupies to serve his generation as saviour (under the authority of the Saviour Jesus Christ). God has ordained and positioned him in a strategic position to use him to salvage a generation from perishing.
Such fellow becomes God’s direct instrument of deliverance and direction for the people.
The fellow who attains the Peak is the person who has a relationship with God (to the level of intimacy) and have submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as a servant to be used to perpetuate the salvation work that God wrought to mankind through Jesus.
Therefore, except a person has an intimate relationship with Jesus and he can attests to it that God allocated him the post for His good purposes to his generation, he has not reached the Peak. Hear Joseph affirming to his brothers that his position in Egypt is totally God’s doing. Gen. 50:2 ; ‘As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.’
Thus, the Peak is the post for perpetuating the good purpose of God for his people and until a person is truly doing God’s bidding in a post, he is not yet at the peak no matter his title, educational qualification, or the scope of His office or the services he is claims to be providing.
It therefore implies that a person at the Peak is the one who is deploying the totality of his unique resources in service to humanity as a savior as well as God’s faithful steward.
They are in the place that God puts them to do the pleasure of God for the people of God.
The Peak is the post where God puts one with whom His is pleased for the purpose of doing His pleasure for His people.
In the New Testament, the Peak is the portion of the redeemed just as the pit remains the portion of the rebellious.
THE BASIS OF PURSUING
The redeemed (heir of salvation) must be conscious of the need to Pursue. If he fails to Pursue the Peak that redemption has allocated him, then times would continue as when satan occupied the Peak when man fell and the curse was on him.
Till today, satan is still pursuing to have for itself what he stole from man which God stripped it of at Calvary. Satan is mindful of the Peak – where it would occupy as on authority to dictate for man. It is interested in making man rebellious towards God so that man would be kept at the rear without any inspiration to rise.
The heir of salvation must jealously grasp and guard his rightful post to occupy as an ordained authority equipped with Power, Riches, Wisdom, Strength, Honour, Glory and Blessing (Rev. 5:12) to represent God on earth as the saviour, the heir of God and co-heir with Jesus Christ.
With the blessing, smart seeds of Abraham pursued and possessed the Peak and with the total heritage of God, heirs of Salvation have the Peak as their possession if they Pursue it. That is, they have to perpetually remind satan and its hirelings where the finished work at Calvary kept them: in the pit never to smell the peak where he stayed when he had Adam’s authority.
