BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF THOSE WHO ASSUMED AUTHORITY WITHOUT AFFIRMATION:
EVE: She was created as a suitable helper for Adam. God did not yet give her any task or assignment to test her abilities as a woman. She was not to live or work independent of man (Adam).
Satan knew her limitations away from Adam. It orchestrated her straying to stay away from Adam and took advantage of her. Being gullible, she assumed Authority and brought damnation to man. Satan used the serpent to strip Adam of all the good that God packaged for him as the Authority over creation. Through Eve, Adam rebelled against God, lost his Authority to satan - the adversary.

PROBLEMS THAT AROSE WHEN EVE ASSUMED AUTHORITY WITHOUT AFFIRMATION:

(i) FAITHLESSNESS: As Eve was yet to be well-versed with the truth: all that transpired between God and Adam during creation, she gave satan the platform to preach to her lies which she believed.
As her faith in God slipped instantly, she failed to realize that satan (through the serpent) was advertising to her the apple that was against her destiny.
As she lost her faith in the God who created her to meet His need of a suitable helper for Adam, she lost the God who was everything she needed to fulfill her destiny. She became a curse to the man she was created to help (Gen 3:1-5).

(ii) FELLOWSHIP WITH THE FOE:
Eve did not realize that she was not the one in Authority: that she was supposed to submit fully to the guidance of Adam. She yielded to a minor creature which man was ordained to dominate.
Had Eve known that she was not directly the one in Authority, she would not have stepped out to speak unbehalf of man: the right person in Authority (Adam) would have known that the serpent had no knowledge of God and His creation than himself.

Hence, he would have treated such creature who had the guts to preach against his God as one who deserved to be renamed as a threat to creation and the enemy of its Creator.

Eve mistook a foe for a friend and spent time in fellowship with the serpent whose nature was revealed in Gen. 3:1 ‘Now, the serpent was more crafty than…’. The crafty being was used by the foe (satan) to rebel against God and it only happened because it had fellowship with one who had no Affirmation for the post of Authority she assumed to her detriment.

(iii) FEELING OF INADEQUACY:
Inadequacy means ‘the state being unequal to the purpose; insufficient, deficient.’
The final evaluation of His creation was ‘very good’. ‘God saw that it was very good’ (Gen.1:31).
But as Eve left her helper (Adam) to assess herself in the evil/ envoius mirror of satan, she believed satan that she was not adequate.

She was laid into believing that satan who did not create her and did not contribute any idea towards her creation knew what she lacked. She depended on a minor creature (the serpent who could not first change itself into the Image and Likeness of God) to assist her with what she needed to be the enemy of God that satan wanted her to be.

If Eve aligned herself to the man she was created to help, she would have had no occasion to be tutored by a treasonist and traitor.
N/B: Eve assuming any role independent of her helper is like the saved man functioning without the Holy Spirit - his helper.

Without the God-sent help (the Holy Spirit), the heir of God who is supposed to be an Authority is grossly Inadequate. When he is confronted with the challenges of the creation the Holy Spirit was to help him coordinate, he finds himself inadequate and strays to meet satan through its agents who hang on the wings to spoil those who are likely to stray for their ignorance of the available helper for their adequacy – even the Holy Spirit.

iv. FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN:
As Eve did not know that she was ‘very good’ and the envy of the serpent who was her subject, she strayed to spend time with a creature who devalued her; made her feel unsafe in a bountiful place that God gave her as an heritage. Everything she needed to enjoy safety and security as God ordained for her was within the garden and all she needed was to keep herself within the sphere of the man’s helper.
As she strayed from the one whom she was created to help, Food instead of Work became her focus. She shifted her passion was Work to Food and one who was not performing her obligations to creation to tend the garden became mindful of Food and satan used food, appetite and deceitful sights to mess the ambience for her.

Gen 3:1 ‘... and you must not touch it, or you will die’. She saw evil in the very good place that a loving God gave her to enjoy and she became an embodiment of fear - that she would die if she touched the tree whose fruit was forbidden.
For straying to act as an Authority, she misrepresented God as evil - that God did not mean good for her. Hence, she sought the help of a creature she was equipped (with her man) to dictate for and give order to as an elementary creature.

He live without the Holy Spirit is to misunderstand God, miscomprehend the Word of God, lost touch with one’s uniqueness, perceive danger where there is none and subscribe for the help of the adversary. This is why the church is yet to be able to help expectant creation. The church has neglected the Helper (the Holy spirit) that God ordained for him.

In his helpless state, the adversary is taking him in a ride against the divine order and he is not more than a rebel in the household of faith.

v. FINDING FAULT WITH GOD AND THE DIVINE ORDER.
At creation, all-wise God had set the order for His earth. He had placed man in Authority to oversee His creation but as Eve stepped into the realm she was only to help Adam to do well at, she spoilt the order. The adversary created disorder through her and they both made it appear like God made any mistake in the work he marked ‘very good’.

As satan made the forbidden fruit to seem good for Food, pleasing to the eyes and desirable for gaining wisdom, (Gen. 3:5) Eve became a victim of delusion. She believed in something that was not true and disbelieved her Creator; even her man (Adam). The fruit that was forbidden became her final feast as she feasted to fall into damnation as satan programmed for her.

The divine order is till today being trampled upon by believers who were saved to redeem it. Unfortunately, many believers take the grace of God for granted and are continuing in the sins they were saved to seize from. Their misbelief is that the Commandments of God do not count any longer: that they can keep sinning and keep their heritage. But that is far from the truth because the adversary is envious of the heir of God and is preoccupied with keeping him in a rebellious mode against God so that he would lost his heritage as Adam and Eve and continue in the curse like satan and its subjects.

vi: FALLING OF THE OTHER FELLOW (EVEN BRETHREN):
God needed Adam to have a helper with whom he would be adequate for the work of ordering Creation for God. The creation of Eve was God’s decision and Adam’s pleasure until he allowed her to stray into the realm of Authority she was created to help him fulfill.

As Adam neglected to take charge of his helper(EVE), she became the core cause of his fall. She masterminded a rebellious deed that made him to lost his Authority, lost his garden and lost pleasure in his woman.

If Adam had taken his Authority as a privilege and unique heritage (which other creatures did not have), he would have guarded it jealously. He would not have been too pleased with Eve to let her assume the role of God – to assume that the forbidden was fit for a feast. To be continued: till we are done, do not be tempted to think that the female heir of Salvation in the church today is helpless without her Adam. The Holy Spirit has redefined and refined her into an Authority and she is adequate to serve the purpose of her redemption adequately.
